The commemoration on 4 May it was again a very beautiful. Thanks to the beautiful weather and the high turnout. Around a quarter to eight was the silent march from the entrance of the avenue to the memorial Régis. The men and women 501 squadron and the men of the fire brigade of Werkhoven had already gone there before. And were ready for the commemoration.
Just before eight o'clock sounded the Last Post played by Joyce van Baak. After that there was another impressive two minute silence. And then you hear in the distance all the swelling sound of the engines of the historic aircraft Flying Museum Seppe. Goosebumps! This year they again flew for the 12th time on!
Then the national anthems of the Netherlands, France and England. After which the wreaths and flowers were laid accompanied by beautiful music of the pipe back of Mark Bisset, one of the 501 Squadron leden. This time in full uniform.
Thereafter, following the speeches of van den Brink Yvonne, Jorrit Eijbersen of Bunnik and Alex Foley 501 Squadron.
Partly because of your presence and cooperation of many volunteers, it was again a special commemoration.
